My passion for education is the reason I am here as Superintendent of Detroit Lakes Public Schools. I have over 28 years of experience in the world of public education that ranges from being an English teacher, assistant principal, and principal. To this day, however, I still consider myself a teacher. As I begin my 29th year in education and now serving in the role of your new Superintendent, I find my passion for education at an all-time high. I am so excited to begin my work here as I get to know more people in the district and the community. I am quickly learning what a great place the District is to come to work. I am continuously impressed with the professionalism, vision, and hard work that I have seen thus far in those I have met who also work in the District. I am looking forward to being a part of such a great team.
My family has had a lake home in the area for many years and I have been fortunate to spend many summer days in the Detroit Lakes area. As I have grown older, I have come to realize that this is where I want to eventually end up. I am so blessed to have this opportunity and will work very hard to continue the rich tradition of excellence that is Detroit Lakes Public Schools. Detroit Lakes is truly a remarkable community and I am looking forward to getting to work.
Sails up!
